Let’s Communicate!
NERA Networks celebrated the launch of a new satellite system, the Evolution Series, at the prominent Grosvenor House hotel, the Artaaj Team was there managing the event.
Mark O’Kane, Regional Business Development Director, introduced to his guests, with a simple thought in mind: “keep in touch… say hello” and commencing the event were his fellow members from NERA Networks, who flew from Norway, where the headquarter office is, with an introduction and details of the new satellite system.
The Theme: Communication!
The NERA Networks group as well as representatives from communication companies from all around the Middle East and Europe drummed to the same beat for 20 minutes, illustrated by a drumming band, to emphasize the importance of communication, and how the oldest form of communication was drumming.
Of course there were some bashful ones, but eventually all the guests enjoyed themselves, and felt a part of a community, with the same thought in mind, communicate.
The Artaaj team was behind the scene, watching as their efforts and imaging unfolded before their eyes, smiling as guests hesitated to take part in the drumming experience.

Tang Mango Madness at Dubai Parks
Visitors at parks in Dubai this month were delighted when they were greeted by Tang Mango samplers dressed in Tang gear. Tang has launched a new taste of their mango flavour. The new mango is different from the previous one, in that the taste is of the Asian mango which is more sweet.
Our team was present at the Creek park, Zabeel park as well as Mamzar park. The sampling was conducted over a weekend period to take advantage of the high traffic during that time. We procured the relevant permissions from the parks and the government departments. We also selected and trained the samplers. Our logistics team prepared the samples and delivered to the parks. Mango pink balloons with the Tang logo were printed and handed to children at the parks.
Park Fact File
More than 4.7 million visitors visited Dubai’s eight major public parks, including Safa, Mamzar, Jumeirah Beach, Mushrif, Dubai Creek and Rashidiya parks last year. Of this, 2.8 million people visited the five major parks during the year. (Gulf News 3 Jan 2006)
1) Creek Park
This park was opened in 1994 and gets it’s name from the fact that it is located on the bank of the Dubai Creek. With a large area of 95 hectares, Creek Park is the second largest park in Dubai. It is recognized due to it’s strategic location and recreational. The park has five entrances, four berths so that visitors can access the park via touring boats and it also has three heli-pads.
2) Zabeel Park
With an overall area of 47.5 hectares this park has been designed with a technology theme. Zabeel Park provides a themed recreation and leisure facility of international standard. A series of high tech interactive displays including educational and recreational exhibits grouped into three zones (Alternative Energy zone, Communications zone and Techno zone) are present. A maze modeled on the planetary system and other technology based attractions form an integral part of this park.
3) Mamzar Park
Covers an area of 106 hectares and offers barbeque sites, private chalets for hire, swimming pool, food kiosks, sheltered beach and lagoon. The park also has a scenic train as well as children playing areas. It is located approximately 5 km after the turn off to Hamriya Port.

Crown your Mood!....
…. That’s the name of the latest Artaaj managed promotion. Sunsilk from the house of Unilever, is giving away instant prizes on purchase of any variant of Sunsilk shampoo at all Carrefours across the UAE .
Artaaj trained promoters dressed in branded casual kurtis explain the benefits of each variant. They hand out scratch cards on purchase where customers have an opportunity to win mini-ipods, mp3 players and even cds and tapes of the Sunsilk signature song Dale Don Dale. The promoters then guide the winning consumers to the customer service stands at Carrefour to claim their prizes.

A behind-the-scenes look at Acuvue® outreach programme
When the Acuvue® brand from the house of Johnson and Johnson decided that they want to meet with consumers across the GCC, they contacted your favourite promotion specialists!
With a flurry of activities the outreach was finally planned and the first consumers were greeted in Qatar.
Our consultants invited shoppers at the mall to the Acuvue® stand and handed out product leaflets. They encouraged consumers to feel the lenses to check for themselves how soft and comfortable the lenses really were.
Consumers were then directed to the optical store in the mall to get a customized fitting and free trial. A report of the people contacted and their comments was put together for the client to measure the success of the outreach.
Here we take a quick look at how the programme was managed behind the scenes. The following is a brief excerpt of the conversation that ensued to put the program on track:
Sanjith: So in how many markets are we conducting this outreach ?
Kiran: Just Qatar for now!
Sanjith: Okay we need to get the creative in place.. can you get the images from the client ?
Kiran: Get rid of the model in the background, we need to use the same backdrop in Saudi
Visualizer: If the model goes the background becomes really plain, we have to think of another idea!
Sanjith: Well we have less than 2 days to ship this..
Arafat: I’ve spoken with Osama (our Qatar partner) he’s negotiating with the malls to book space for the
program. He is also getting ready to train the promoters.
Kiran: Client’s representative is flying to Qatar to conduct the training
Trring! Phone rings..
Kiran: Oh so we have to start Bahrain as well?
Ajeena: No worries I’ll contact Sunita (our partner in Bahrain), we’ll organize this and get the show on the road.
Four days later…
Arafat: Great, the reports and photos have arrived from Qatar. It has been a success!
Sanjith: Get ready to move to Abu Dhabi
Kiran: Home ground - Dubai is next!
Ashifa: We’ll get the promoters in earlier for a casting session
Kiran: Next week will be Kuwait – right before we move to KSA!
